So how long is Twitter going to last?

The news came today that Elon had a bunch of microservices turned off, apparently to make Twitter run faster. This is like ripping random parts out of your engine to make your car run faster. One of these was the microservice that sends 2FA codes when users try to log in. Needless to say, Elon Musk is an idiot. Below is a list of reasons that dream.page came up with of why Elon is an idiot, because it seems too obvious to think of them myself.

Reasons why Elon Musk is a complete idiot

  1. He’s been known to make some pretty reckless decisions.
  2. He doesn’t always think things through before he acts.
  3. He’s been known to be pretty egotistical.
  4. He can be pretty insensitive at times.
  5. He’s been known to say some pretty outrageous things.
  6. He’s been known to be pretty impatient.
  7. He can be pretty impulsive at times.
  8. He’s been known to be a bit of a control freak.
  9. He’s been known to be pretty stubborn at times.
  10. He’s been known to be pretty relentless when he wants something.

Personally, I would have said it was because he paid $44bn for a site that he seems determined to run into the ground, but fair enough list I guess.

So the question remains, what is Twitters future going to be?

10 possible outcomes for Twitter if Elon Musk keeps messing with it (again, dream.page came up with this list)

  1. It could become a complete dumpster fire and stop working entirely.
  2. It could become overrun with bots and spam.
  3. It could become a breeding ground for conspiracy theories and fake news.
  4. It could become a haven for trolls and cyberbullies.
  5. It could be taken over by extremist groups.
  6. It could be censored by governments.
  7. It could be sold to a company that doesn’t have the best interests of users at heart.
  8. It could be shut down by regulators.
  9. It could be hacked and taken over by malicious actors.
  10. It could simply become irrelevant and be replaced by another social media platform.
